Hello

This is me... with the friend that got me through it.  A new member of the club that no one wants to belong to.

Sarah you saved me, kept me smiling, listened to me worrying about the same thing, usually my own death, time and time again and held me when I needed you.

My Story

11 years ago I was given the devastating news that I had breast cancer, a mother of two children aged 2 and 6, my world imploded.

After a year of numerous surgeries, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and of course hair loss and awful side effects I started to try to rebuild my health and life to try to give myself the best chance of being around to see my children grow up. Cancer is never very far from your thoughts after your diagnosis and is definitely the club that no one wants to be a member of. Through social media I have made contact with hundreds of other breast cancer patients from all over the world. As a community of ladies we all give each other help with all aspects of aftercare and body positivity.

Over this time it has become very apparent that there is a complete lack of beautiful, non wired, colourful and sexy underwear for post surgery bodies. Most companies at this time are creating dull beige, white, brown and black in very unflattering shapes.

Wearing wired bras before or after surgery is considered to hinder lymph flow around the breast and armpits so most post surgery women choose to wear non wired. That paired with often mis shapen reconstructed breasts or breasts missing lumps or nipples makes it very difficult for these women to feel feminine and sexy.

I got fed up with the lack of options so decided to draw on the expertise of this group of amazing women and design a non wired bra that would work for immediately after surgery and also to help women regain their sense of identity. After all, we are not dead and want to celebrate that by feeling "normal" again.
